Relax in our lush garden with the trickle of a fountain to soothe your soul, and it's hard to believe the French Quarter is a block away in one direction, and jazzy Frenchmen Street just a few steps in the other.

What began in the 18th century as modest servant quarters has evolved over the decades to become the one-of-a-kind place it is today - a three-story, two-bedroom guesthouse just brimming with eclectic charm.
On the ground floor, the kitchen and living room invite cozy gathering, with updated appliances, a thoughtfully arranged dining area, and fully stocked dishes and utensils - not to mention a smart HDTV for your favorite streaming services. Wi-fi, laundry facilities, and central heating and cooling are just a few of the other comforts you'll find.
Just outside the French doors, the spacious, leafy courtyard offers plenty of room for relaxed coffees and cocktails, plus a grill for cooking out.
When it's time to rest up, pull out the queen-sized sofa sleeper, or ascend the unique spiral staircase to the two levels above, each equipped with sunny sitting areas, garden-facing balconies, private bathrooms, and luxurious king beds for deep, carefree slumber. There's even a comfy futon bed on the second floor for an additional guest.
Prized for its sense of peace and seclusion, the house has long played host to a revolving cast of travelers and colorful local characters - including artists, playwrights, TV producers, and war heroes. Most notably, New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw sought refuge here after being accused in the murder of JFK. (He was quickly acquitted.)

What we offer
- A three-story, two-bedroom guesthouse on the Lanaux Mansion property.
- Up to 7 guests: Two king beds, a queen sofa sleeper, and a futon bed for an additional guest.
- Two full bathrooms and a half bathroom, including shampoo, conditioner body wash, toilet paper, hairdryer, towels, and washcloths.
- Check-in time is 3 p.m. or later, and check-out time is 11 a.m. For early arrivals and late departures, no worries! We can securely store your luggage. You’ll enter the Marigny Maisonette from Chartres Street, using a keyless keypad. You’ll get your code in your pre-arrival information.
- Complimentary continental breakfast is provided in your room to enjoy at your leisure. It consists of coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, oatmeal, and breakfast bars. (Subject to change based on availability).
- Pillowtop mattress, 500 + thread count linens, foam and feather pillows, luxurious spreads and throw pillows.
- Complimentary wi-fi is provided. You’ll get the login and password in your pre-arrival information, as well as in your room manual.
- Two flat-screen Roku-enabled smart TVs with access to Hulu and Netflix.
- Kitchen with microwave, oven, range, refrigerator, toaster, dishes, silverware, wine opener and can opener, paper towels, dish soap.
- Garden Courtyard: The two garden areas feature a bubbling fountain and plenty of seating for your group. There’s also a grill for cooking out.
- You have your own laundry room with complimentary washer and dryer. The door to the laundry is on your left as you enter the front gate. Laundry soap is provided.
- Central heating and cooling keeps the Maisonette comfortable all year ‘round.
- New Orleans is a very walkable city. A car is generally not necessary. Our location is perfect for walking as we are right on the border that separates the French Quarter from the Faubourg Marigny and Frenchmen Street. We are one block from the Riverfront Streetcar and several bike rental shops, as well as on the RTA (Regional Transit Authority) routes for bus service. Uber cars and taxis are easily accessible as well. Should you decide to drive, parking can be booked with us in advance, subject to availability.
- No Smoking: The Marigny Maisonette is a non-smoking facility to protect the historic integrity of the property, as well as guests who may have allergies.
