Things to do in New Orleans

The fun starts right outside our door

Cross the street to explore the festive and fascinating French Quarter, or simply turn the corner for the lively music scene on Frenchmen Street. When you stay at the Lanaux Mansion, you’re less than a block from either.

Also a short stroll away are the sprawling French Market, lovely St. Louis Cathedral, the beignets of Cafe du Monde, and the Mississippi riverfront, plus an endless parade of restaurants, events, and must-see attractions.

Not to mention our world-class museums, parks, plantation homes, battlefields, and bayous, all within an easy drive.

You can’t do it all in one visit, but you can sure have fun trying!

The French Quarter

This fabled neighborhood is like no other place in the U.S., with its narrow streets, flickering gas lamps, and secluded courtyards hiding the secrets of another age. Bustling with musicians, artists, cocktail bars, and voodoo shops, it’s a bucket-list vacation destination you’ll never forget.

Frenchmen Street & Faubourg Marigny

Just follow the sounds of trumpets to nearby Frenchmen Street. This short section of road is jam-packed with jazz clubs, open-air markets, eateries, and bars. It’s an excellent place to people-watch, and you might even find yourself dancin’ in the streets.
