Imagine having your own private cottage in the French Quarter, right where the rollicking “Vieux Carré” scene spills into the famous old jazz dens of Frenchmen Street.

Located on the grounds of the stately Lanaux Mansion — itself a piece of New Orleans history — the sweetly named Sophie’s Enchanted Cottage combines all the grace and charm of a bygone era with every modern comfort you could want — wi-fi, air conditioning, a sitting area for when you need to get some work done, and a flat-screen HDTV for when you don’t.

You’ll enter the Lanaux property through a private gate off Chartres Street, and pass through your own garden courtyard — a wonderful place for relaxed coffees or cocktails — on the way to your newly renovated rooms.

Once inside, you’ll instantly start to feel at home. The former kitchen storehouse has high, airy ceilings and large windows to let in plenty of natural light. Whitewashed brick walls and tastefully rustic decor make it as homey as it is handsome.

Cottage

When you’re exhausted after a day of music, fun, and food, let the queen-size pillow-top welcome you with a good night’s rest.

Feel like sleeping in? Your private kitchenette has a microwave, coffeemaker, and fridge to hold groceries and leftovers, so breakfast is on your schedule, and the same goes for midnight snacks.
Need fresh laundry? The washer and dryer are right across the courtyard.

Everything you need is right here for you in this unique cottage rental in the French Quarter, though we imagine you won’t be spending too much time inside. After all, you’re mere steps away from the city’s best entertainment, restaurants, and bars.

Check-in / Check-out
Check-in time is 3 p.m. or later, and check-out time is 11 a.m. Again, we operate by keyless/contactless keypad so you can come and go as you wish. For early arrivals and late departures, no worries! We can securely store your luggage.
Access to the Mansion
Entrance and exit to the Mansion and your room are all by keypad, offering keyless and contactless entry and exit. Your code will be provided to you in your pre-arrival information. Sophie’s Enchanted Cottage is on our ground floor between the two courtyards.
Complimentary Continental Breakfast
Continental Breakfast is provided in your room to enjoy at your leisure. It consists of coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, oatmeal, and healthy breakfast bars. (Subject to change based on availability).

Pillowtop mattress, 500 + thread count linens, foam and feather pillows, luxurious spreads and throw pillows.
Wi-Fi

The Courtyards
The Lanaux offers its guests an outdoor Courtyard to gather or just relax and enjoy a libation and the sounds of the City. Sophie’s Enchanted Cottage has its own private Courtyard.

There is a complimentary washer and dryer at the back of the main house, just off the courtyard. Laundry soap is provided.

Each room is equipped with an individually controlled cooling and heating system, with your choice of automatic or always-on settings.
Parking
New Orleans is a very walkable city. A car is generally not necessary. Our location is perfect for walking as we are right on the border that separates the French Quarter from the Faubourg Marigny and Frenchmen Street.

We are one block from the Riverfront Streetcar and several bike rental shops, as well as on the RTA (Regional Transit Authority) routes for bus service. Uber cars and taxis are easily accessible as well. Should you decide to drive, parking can be booked with us in advance, subject to availability.

Noise
New Orleans is known for its good times and late nights. When the City is full, guests who are light sleepers need not be disturbed as we provide a sound machine and earplugs in each room.
No Smoking
The Lanaux Mansion is a nonsmoking facility to protect the historic integrity of the property, as well as guests who may have allergies.

The Cottage is part of the 5 BR/4 BA French Quarter Lanaux Mansion. The Mansion operates as a bed and breakfast. Cancellation Policy

100% refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in.
50% refund (minus the service fee) if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in.
No refund if you cancel less than 14 days before check-in.

Damage and Incidentals

You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay.
